When talk about software, the most end-users always think that is the program that run on their computer to accomplish their specific tasks such as using word processors to create letters, documents, and reports but they don't know what exactly main important type of software that can allow them to use these application software(Word Processor...). This blog will tell you detail about one type of software which is very important and run on our computer machine is system software. System Software is is not a single program. Rather it is a collection or a system of programs which can work with end users, application software, and computer hardware to handle the majority of technical details. For example, system software controls where a spreadsheet program is stored in memory, how commands are converted so that the system unit can process them, and where a completed document or file is saved. System Software is divided in to four types of software are Operating System, Utilities, Device Driver and Language translators.
- Operating System(OS) : coordinate computer resources, provide an interface between users and the computer, and run applications. For example: in order to use MS Office Word 2013, the end user need to install MS Office 2013, but in order to install MS Office 2013, the end-user need to install one type of Operating System(OS) such as window 7, 8 .. first.
- Utilities: perform specific tasks related to managing computer resources. For example: check drive.
- Device drivers: are specialized programs that allow particular input or output devices to communicate with the rest of the computer system. For example: when you buy a new printer, you need to install that printer driver on your computer to let you can print document from your computer.
- Language translators convert the programming instructions written by programmers into a language that computers understand and process.
