The first technology training on Google (GDG DevFest) in Phnom Penh Cambodia in 2013

Phnom Penh, on 02nd November 2013

There are about 400 persons of information technology expert and students in computer science field joined the Google technology training called "GDG DevFest Phnom Penh" which is celebrated at Norton University on 02nd November 2013. This training is organized by group of  Google technology developers and sponsoring place by Norton University. This is the first event in Cambodia for sharing and learning the latest technology from each others and to improve technology using also encourage the new developers too. In additional, This training is forum to provide opportunity to youth who have skill related to information technology to seek new idea and change their knowledge from each others in information field in Cambodia.

Mr Logn Samdy, chief of training program said that 'technology field update from one day to one day. We want to Cambodia youth get more on technology knowledge and take the advantage from it '. He added that 'This is the free event for all people who want to join and provide opportunity to youth who have skill related to information technology meet directly with experts such as Computer programmers, website developers, programmers, lecturer, especially meet with the experts from Google company.'

He emphasized the importance and long-term aim of the workshop that "What you have learned today will give you the benefit in the future, especially the technology using for community development with whole nation. "

The main topics for this year is the latest Google technology such as “Wearable Computing, Mobil & Cloud and Android program”. Out of this, there are other technology like Google Cloud Storage, Google Maps & Street View, Khmer Language on Google Platform, Google App Engine to HTML 5 were shown in this event too.

DevFest is the event organized every year around the world that focus on Google technology. DevFest was celebrated at the first time in USA in 2008 then spread in to more than 100 countries in the world.
